Feedback workshop on the mission to meet and exchange views with stakeholders in the pineapple value chain

At the invitation of the Competitive Value Chains for Employment and Economic Transformation Project (PCCET), stakeholders in the pineapple value chain met on 17 and 18 October 2022 in Grand-Bassam for a workshop.

The aim of the meeting was to review and validate the results of the exchange mission with these stakeholders; to conduct a participatory analysis of the difficulties and bottlenecks in the pineapple value chain; to analyse the prospects and desirable and feasible changes, the concrete obstacles to change and the role of each stakeholder; and to formulate recommendations to remedy the shortcomings in the value chain.

For two days, PCCET teams and pineapple sector professionals examined issues such as the availability of planting material, spatial competition between pineapple and perennial export crops, labour issues and qualifications, logistics, agricultural equipment and access to finance.
