Supporting local entrepreneurship: the PCCET is to launch a programme to support start-ups

Supporting the creation and growth of innovative start-ups in priority sectors of the Ivorian economy is one of the major objectives of the Competitive Value Chains for Employment and Economic Transformation Project (PCCET). In this context, on 16 and 17 May 2024, the PCCET will launch its sub-project entitled "support for the start-up ecosystem". Through this support, the PCCET intends to :

 i) contribute to the definition of the vision and strategy for the development of the start-up ecosystem in Côte d'Ivoire ;

ii) design and develop support programmes resulting from the above-mentioned vision and strategy and ;

iii) support startups selected on a competitive basis, for the deployment and monitoring of the programmes selected. These start-ups may constitute a pool of target companies for subsequent investments by CDC-CI Capital and other players. The ceremony will take the form of speeches and round-table discussions with players from the private and public sectors, as well as development partners, on ways to help strengthen Côte d'Ivoire's entrepreneurial fabric. The PCCET is funded by the World Bank. It is implemented by a Coordination Unit attached to the Office of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Minister for Sport and the Living Environment. The PCCET is part of the government's "Côte d'Ivoire solidaire" programme and the "Côte d'Ivoire 2030" strategic plan.
